13 New iOS Games out This Week [Jan. 30]

The last batch of new iOS games for January has been released! We’ve got 13 games in particular that you might be interested in checking out this week. Remember, this list doesn’t contain every new iOS game that came out this week, but rather just some of the highlights from our perspective. Make sure you also take a look at some of the other great iOS games released earlier this month! We’ve got some games that look very promising, so let’s get started.

Radiation IslandRadiation Island

  • Price: $2.99
  • Genre: Adventure
  • Developer: Atypical Games

First on the list is a game that might just be the most intriguing release of the week. Radiation Island is a survival game where you’ll need to solve puzzles, craft items, and defeat an array of different enemies throughout. It looks like there is quite a bit of content to play through here, and there’s even a multiplayer mode available to those who are able to survive the campaign. The price is only $2.99, which also helps make this game worth checking out.

Sons of Anarchy: The Prospectsoaprospect

  • Price: $1.99
  • Genre: Story
  • Developer: Orpheus Interactive

We’ve been waiting for this one for a little while now, and it’s finally here — the mobile game spin-off of the popular TV show Sons of Anarchy. The Prospect puts you in the shoes of a newbie biker in the notorious SoA motorcycle club. You’ll be forced to make quick decisions that will ultimately effect the outcome of your biker’s story. Anyone who enjoys mobile games like Telltale’s The Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands, will likely enjoy this one as well — especially if you’re a fan still experiencing withdrawals after the TV series ended not too long ago.

  • Price: $4.99
  • Genre: RPG/Shooter
  • Developer: Crescent Moon Games

Next up is Exiles, and this is another fantastic looking game from developer Crescent Moon. It has already been available for Android for quite some time now, but is finally making the port over to iOS for iPhone and iPad users to enjoy as well. Although I haven’t played the Android version yet myself, it looks to be something very similar to Dead Space or perhaps NOVA. Either way, if it is executed similarly to one of those titles, it is already in good company.

Touchdown HeroTDHero

  • Price: Free
  • Genre: Sports
  • Developer: Cherry Pick Games

Let’s take a quick break from the high quality, story-driven, adventure packed games — and let’s step into the arcade zone for a minute. In honor of the Super Bowl this Sunday, Cherry Pick Games brings us Touchdown Hero. It’s a simple little Football game where you’ve got to put the moves on your defenders so you can showboat your way to the end zone for a TD. You can unlock new characters and teams along the way, and there are a variety of different levels to play; each with varying opponents and weather conditions.

Fahrenheit: Indigo ProphecyFahrenheit

  • Price: $9.99
  • Genre: Adventure/Story
  • Developer: Aspyr Media

Consider the break from story-driven games short lived, because next we have Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy. This is actually a port from a 2005 PC/PS2/Xbox game that follows the story of a man named Lucas, who begins having supernatural encounters, and attempts to tie this into a series of murders that have been happening around New York City. For anyone who hasn’t played the game on older consoles, it’s definitely a story worth checking out — and those who have played may enjoy it for the sake of nostalgia.

Active Soccer 2Active Soccer 2

  • Price: $3.99
  • Genre: Sports
  • Developer: Gianluca Troiano

Now back to Sports! Active Soccer 2 brings all of the traditional bells and whistles you’d see in a soccer game now days: extensive career mode, hundreds of soccer teams, thousands of soccer players with unique skillsets, a team builder, and a whole lot more. It doesn’t look to offer a whole lot more or less than similar mobile soccer games, so this one is really going to come down to how smooth it plays.

Traffic BusterTraffic Buster

  • Price: $0.99
  • Genre: Puzzle/Strategy
  • Developer: Djinnworks GmbH

Think you’ve got what it takes to direct traffic at a busy intersection? Find out in Traffic Buster. This game tasks you with the job of slowing down or accelerating multiple vehicles coming from multiple directions in this four way intersection. It may sound easy, but judging from the images, things can get hectic quickly. Traffic Buster offers a variety of levels, cars, difficulties, and of course — crashes.

Xcite Mountain BikeXcite Mountain Bike

  • Price: Free
  • Genre: Runner
  • Developer: Weraku Games

Follow the path, collect coins, do tricks, and score lots of points in Xcite Mountain Bike. It’s a simple looking runner game but offers a bit of character customization via upgrades, and there are a few other interesting mechanics as well. You’ve got 18 different tricks you can perform on your bike, and there are four different environments for you to ride on.

  • Price: $3.99
  • Genre: Arcade
  • Developer: Elijah Delventhal

Ever wonder what you’d get if you mixed Pinabll with the RPG genre? Well, it’d probably be something like this new iOS Game: BlizKeep. Although it doesn’t really look like a Pinball game, the concept is slightly prevalent throughout the campaign. There are 10 levels to complete in this unique little Arcade Puzzler, are you up to the challenge?

  • Price: Free
  • Genre: Strategy
  • Developer: GameShock

XenoBot is a Strategy game that has you assemble a team of highly trained robots to complete missions and battle other players in the arena. There is a ton of customization and strategy involved, and what looks to be a lot of content to complete as well (in addition to the endless multiplayer battles that await). Players can upgrade and specialize their robots, as well as research new parts and modifications to maximize their power.

RuneSpell OvertureRuneSpell Overture

  • Price: $4.99
  • Genre: CCG
  • Developer: Mystic Box

At first glance, I thought this was another RPG/TCG type game. Not that it isn’t, but it’s also primarily another classic card game — Poker. It’s a very interesting concept, mixing these two types of card games, but I’m definitely intrigued. Although $5 may seem a little steep for this type of game, it just might be worth it if this sounds like something right up your alley.

  • Price: $1.99
  • Genre: Arcade
  • Developer: Choice Provisions

If fast-paced, action-packed arcade games are your thing, than Destructamundo might be your pick of the week. The game offers 72 different levels to complete, easy to learn controls, and high intensity gameplay throughout the experience.

Pro PinballPro Pinball

  • Price: Free
  • Genre: Arcade
  • Developer: Barnstorm Games

Last on our list is an actual Pinball game (sorry BlitzKeep). As you can see in the image above, it promises to have the “Best Ever Physics Engine”, which is yet to be determined. There are a handful of interesting features included with this one, such as the “explore the table” mode, and it promises to have more content than multiple Pinball games combined. It’s free to download, so no risk in finding out if it can live up to all the talk.

That does it for this week! Let us know in the comments section below what you think about the new iOS games, and which one you’re looking forward to trying the most.
