Horn Goes Free For App Of The Week On The AppStore

Horn for iOS goes free for App of the Week promotion

Apple doesn’t always go this premium with their free App of the week selection, so make sure you pick this gem up while it’s free. Horn is a 3rd person action adventure game that takes some of the best designs from games like Zelda with environmental puzzles and intense action like Infinity Blade with blocking, rolling, dodging, and furious swipes of the blade towards colossal enemies.

“Embark on an epic adventure through a perilous and beautify landscape. Navigating Horn’s rich world is a pleasure thanks to smooth controls, paths to trailblaze and a spellbinding orchestral score. With monumental monsters to destroy and fantastic secrets to uncover, Horn will have you enraptured.”

This isn’t the first week we’ve seen a generous freebie from the App Store either, last week Apple gave us Warhammer Quest, a triple-A turn-based RPG for free as well. We really hope this isn’t just a Spring Bonus and this becomes more of a norm than a occasional App Store bonus. Either way, two amazing iOS games for free, we can’t complain about that.

Horn, released back in August of 2012, is a action adventure title that boasts some of the most beautiful and lush graphics on iOS to date. The title was highly praised for not only its impressive graphics, but its light-hearted story, intuitive puzzles, and intense action with massive enemies. Horn is one of the best examples of full fledged gaming on a mobile device, fully utilizing and embracing touch screen controls, Horn offers not only a complete and excellent game, but one that needs to be played on a touch-screen device.

Not too many iOS or Android exclusive games get reviewed by high-end game companies like IGN, but when a game does this well to really bring out the devices controls, and offer a full and exciting adventure like Horn does, its a hard title not to notice. IGN wasn’t the only big name review company to take notice to Horn either, here’s what some of the other game companies had to say about this title:

IGN-“ Horn is this year’s most impressive iOS game”
IGN – 9 out of 10-Editor’s Choice

GAMEZEBO-“ A mobile masterpiece”
GAMEZEBO – 5 out of 5

MODOJO-“ The newest addiction of any iOS supporter”
MODOJO 4.5 out of 5

AOL- “Horn is a testament to what is possible on mobile”

METACRITIC 94 out of 100

SLIDE TO PLAY – 4 out of 4

Some of Horn’s features include:

  •  Accessible controls that anyone can use- walking, jumping, crawling, even grapple hook, are all performed with intuitive gestures

  •  Hidden side content to discover

Horn is regularly $6.99 and requires iOS 5.0 or later. The download is just over 1GB in size, so it’s recommended that you install the game on a WiFi network.
