Does all Windows Vista drivers working on Windows 7 ?

So from what i understand , Windows Vista drivers are working for Windows 7 too. But i personally got some friends that had lots of problems with the drivers on windows 7 , even when switching from Vista to 7 .
So that's not a general rule ?

Ex: I have a laptop that came with Windows Vista on it , if i want to put Windows 7 , will the CD with drivers that came with it will work ? Or i have to find other drivers.

Well most of the drivers for Windows Vista are working on Windows 7 too. But that's not 100%. Some of them don't work , had some problems myself too. But drivers for windows 7 are kinda not a problem anymore , you can find almost every driver you want/need. ( with some older products there are some driver problems tho )
As for your example : You should first try to get the latest drivers for it ( Win 7 ones ) and apply those , if you can't find all the drivers you need , then you can try with the latest drivers for windows vista ... and then , if that don't works either , you can try with the CD you get with the laptop.

not all Vista drivers work in Windows 7, but there are few exceptions. the general rule is that they work, at least what i've tested so far...my general guess is that producers have upgraded their drivers by now, WIndows 7 is out for some time

so, install Win 7 with no problem

Thanks for the answers guys. It seems like all the drivers i need are updated for windows 7. It's nice to see that after all the troubles ppls had when Windows 7 RC was released.
