well, Spybot is one of the best - and if you're running WIndows 7 you can use Windows Defender, it's..ok

Windows Defender did the work for me. I'm very happy with it.
If you are talking about about trust, then there are variety of options..
I'm currently using Microsoft security Essential and it is doing great for me... Freeware and never seen any problems yet.
