A good mixing (dj) application for a beginner?

I'm looking on starting to learn to DJ or to mix, I know that's a long process but before buying any hardware tools, I thought I need to start learning the basics of mixing with some apps.

Any advices on what apps to use or where/with what to start?

I'm not into this, but depends I think on the level and mixing knowledge you have now...maybe silly programs such as Dance eJay can help you better understand tracks/bpm etc...just a thought
