Windows 7 32 bit vs 64 bit performance (windows experience index)

Hello. I have one curiosity. I will start by saying my pc components :
    processor - Intel i3 530
    4GB DDR3 RAM
video card - ATi Radeon HD5770
    hard disk - Samsung 1TB F3 Spinpoint

The Windows Experience Index in Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit was :
    Processor - 6.9
    RAM - 7.3
    Graphics - 7.4
    Gaming graphics - 7.4
    Primary hard disk - 5.9

And the Windows Experience Index in Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit was:
    Processor - 6.9
    RAM - 5.9
    Graphics - 6.0
    Gaming graphics - 6.0
    Primary hard disk - 5.9
Now keep in mind that on 64 bit i have more ram then on 32 bit , since i have 4GB

    Is Windows 7 on 32 bit , running better then Windows7 64 bit ?

In my opinion , Windows Experience Index it's not important ; for example today i did again the test and my score was better then the last time. I didn't do any upgrade to my pc or anything else ... I don't think the 64 bit it it's performing worse then the 32 one.

Well ... if you want to benefit from those 4GB DDR , you need to stick to the 64 bit , it can't be such a big difference between 32 and 64 bit , and if it is , probably it's a driver or something that it's doing it. Check your motherboard driver. And maybe check if the graphic card driver it's the latest one.

I have notice a slightly performance decrease too when i switched from 32 bit to 64. But i didn't notice any changes in games.

All i can say it's that i have Windows 7 / 64 bit on my laptop and all it's working great. True , the laptop came with it since it's new , but i don't see any problems. x64 it's the future anyway so you can't do anything , just get used to that +/- slightly performance if there is any.

Windows 7 x64 it's definitely the choice. It's better couse of the safety and security reasons, not just for that performance stuff. Not to say about the DDR that you get to use in plus.
As for the decreased performance i think that's irrelevant and if there really is one , it's on some programs that are not made for x64 , same as some programs could work a lot better on x64.
But , if you can't drop it ... run a real benchmark test , on both x32 and x64 and check it , not that Windows Experience Index.

the experience index is kinda bogus, not accurate at all. as for the difference between the 64 bit version and the 32 bit version - performance wise, the 64 bit version is slightly faster 5-10% for 32 bit apps (if you really want a powerhouse, you should use 64 bit dedicated software). the real only advantage (for homeusers) of Windows 7 x64 is that you can use a lot of RAM.

My video-card note on windows experience index was 6.9. After a windows reinstall it jumped up to 7.5 ... now guess how accurate this is lol.

well, when you have the RAM more than 4 GB than you have to use the 64 bit win 7 or any windows.
Because 32 bit is unable to show or support more than 4 GB of RAM.
