With the myriad options available in iOS and more being added with every update, there’s also a chance you could overlook some useful tweaks simply because you’d have to navigate through endless menus in the Settings app to discover them.
One of these comprehensive menus is the Accessibility pane, which bundles plenty of settings that let you customize various usage settings for your iDevice. Among them, is an option to change the click speed of the Home button and even if it was added to help those with motor disability, it doesn’t mean it’s not useful for every one else as well.
Clicking once on the Home button is not much of a problem for most people, but if you’re using Accessibility shortcuts you might not be happy about its default speed settings since accessing them requires double or triple clicking the Home button. If that’s your case, here’s how you can adjust the click speed for the Home button, a small yet significant detail that can make using your iPhone or iPad much more comfortable.
Open the Settings app and go to General -> Accessibility.
On the Accessibility screen, scroll down and select the Home Button option.
The Default click speed should be selected for the Home button if you never fiddled with this setting before, but feel free to try the Slow or Slowest options and see if one of these work better for you.
Whichever speed setting you decide to use, remember you can always return to the Home button Accessibility menu to use another one. Practically, it’s best to test all the options and then keep the one you prefer.
