Installation & Requirements
There is nothing really complex about the installation as you will encounter the usual like a EULA agreement and options to create shortcuts but not much else. Keep in mind that you will need an active internet connection to use most of the application’s features. The supported operating systems range from Windows 98 to Windows 8 and Windows Servers 2003 and higher.
Interface
The first time you run the application you will need to complete the first-run wizard. It is a painless process with simple options that you can leave at default if you wish. You will need to select things like your language and what databases you want the movie information to be obtained from. The default options work wonders and you can always change the settings later so there is no need to worry.
The interface of the main application itself is very neat. Everything looks clean and organized while nothing gets in the way. In the left of the window you will be able to choose the specific database you want to view like movie, TV shows and actor databases. A list of whatever you chose will appear in the right window and then when you choose any of them you will be able to view detailed information in the main window in the right of the screen.
The information you will see depends on the database you have selected. However, do not be alarmed if the style of the database you have chosen does not match what you are seeing. The program uses their own custom layouts but they simply gather the information from other websites and display it to you. Most of the time you will also be able to view even more detailed information as the application gathers details from a lot of sites and displays lists of information as well as fan art and trailers for the films or ages for the actors to name a few.
You can always search information about movies from the internet or add your own movies to the list. If you do not have a currently active internet connection you will not be able to view much information unless you are willing to insert the details yourself. Otherwise when you add a movie you will see a flashing green icon. Clicking on it will take you to the configuration page where the application will retrieve even more information about the movie using a utility called MagicScript.
