Installation & Requirements
The setup process is simple, providing few options like choosing your destination folder and creating shortcut paths. The installer itself is elegantly designed and the installation is completed very fast. Face Off Max’s supported operating systems are Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
Interface
It is worth noting at the beginning that the trial version of the application has a watermark and does not provide all of the templates present in the full version. Other than that you are free to try out the application in any way you wish before purchasing a license for the full version.
The visual look of the application is quite pleasant, taking various cues from the MacOS platform. The interface is also extremely easy to use as it is presented by a wizard that will guide you through every step of the way. First of all, you need to choose whether you want to start a new project or open an existing one so that you can make changes to it. Moving on to the next steps is as easy as choosing one of the options and pressing Next each time.
When you have started a new project, you will need to choose from either the existing templates or from your own pictures and files. The template feature is brilliant if you want to experiment with the application and you do not have a picture of yourself readily available.
When you have selected all of the pictures and templates you want to use for the current picture, you will be moved through various editors to ensure that the output image looks good. First of all, you will need to crop the image while ensuring that the box is bigger than the actual head itself. Then, you will use a brush to draw an approximation of the area of the face you wish to use. Finally, the application will automatically insert the face into the body you have previously selected. Here you will have a lot of options to ensure that the head fits perfectly like resizing, rotating and brushing off the edges to fit it into the image. Afterwards you’ll adjust the skin colour so that it fits the original image.
After the last and optional step of adding text to the output image, you are done. From there you can save the image in your computer, send it in an e-mail or automatically share it to Facebook from within the application.
