iOS 10 is chalked full of lesser known features and of course, subtle yet very useful improvements which can actually improve our usage experience to a significant extent. Breadcrumb links, for example, have been redesigned to be shorter.
It’s not something that’s visually appealing compared to the old breadcrumb versions but it is more practical since they are adjusted on the status bar and do not remove the useful wifi icon.
As it turns out, you can get the iOS 10 breadcrumb links in iOS 9, provided your device is jailbroken, using a cool tweak called BreadCrumbs10.
The small tweak is available for free in Cydia’s BigBoss repo and can be used on jailbroken iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS 9. With BreadCrumbs10 installed your status bar breadcrumbs will no longer look like “<back to [app or screen name]”, but will become shorter just like in iOS 10, without hiding your data/wifi icon.
As a result, BreadCrumbs10 will let you use the iOS 10 breadcrumb links in iOS 9 in a simple manner, as all you need to do is install the tweak. Even after iOS 10 exits beta and becomes publicly available, it might take a while before it’s jailbroken so the tweak will not outlive its use too fast.
What do you think of the new iOS 10 breadcrumbs and have you tried the BreadCrumbs10 tweak?
