Truth be told, that Quick Launch bar can still come in handy for many people. Luckily, it is possible to get it back so keep reading to find out how.

Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar and hold the mouse over the ‘Toolbars’ option. A submenu will be displayed – select ‘New toolbar…’.

An Explorer window will be displayed. Copy and paste the following address in the ‘Folder’ field:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Then, click on ‘Select Folder’.

After this, you will have a Quick Launch bar in the lower-right area of the taskbar.

With the Quick Launch bar set up, you can customize its content, as well as its location. However, you will first need to unlock the taskbar. You can do this by right-clicking on an empty area of the taskbar after which you need to uncheck the ‘Lock the taskbar’ option.

With the taskbar unlocked, you can access the Quick Launch settings by right-clicking on the dotted separator lines, as well as change how the bar looks. Also, it is possible to long-press on the dotted separator lines with the left mouse click  and drag the bar to the right or left side of the taskbar.

Once you finish customizing Quick Launch, go ahead and lock the taskbar again. And if you ever decide you don’t want the Quick Launch bar anymore, just right-click on an empty space of the taskbar, hold the mouse cursor over ‘Toolbars’ and untick the ‘Quick Launch’ option. Poof…..it’s gone!
