Google Maps will now warn those navigating to a business that’s already closed

Have you ever been absolutely sure your favorite supermarket closes at 10 p.m. only to find out it’s already closed when you got there (because it was a Sunday and the store closes earlier on this day)? If you rely on Google Maps for navigation directions, it won’t be happening anymore.

Google Maps is getting an update as we speak, and while this one is definitely not packed with features, it does bring one that’s going to be a life saver for many people, in more than one occasion. The app will now notify you when you’re heading towards a location or business that’s already closed, or will be, by the time you arrive.

Actually, Google Maps already listed business hours for most locations even before this update, but you might not pay attention to them as you’re quickly searching for an address. The latest version of Google Maps shows car rental reservations from your GMail in ‘my events’ and also includes the usual set of bug fixes.

Sometimes, small details such as these can make our lives easier than we’re able to imagine. If you’re using Google Maps a lot, go to its Play Store page and grab the latest update.
