It’s possible to add Energy Saver to Power Options in Windows 10’s Control Panel. This way you can easily customize the battery charge percentage and display brightness level at which Energy Saver will be enabled.
In Windows 7 and 8, Control Panel’s Power Options applet also included the Energy Saver option. Microsoft removed in Windows 10, recommending us to customize Energy Saver via the Settings app. It seems they’re trying to slowly transition us from the old Control Panel to the new Settings app, although some things haven’t been completely removed.
For this reason, we’ll use a simple Registry hack to add Energy Saver to Power Options in Windows 10.
How to add Energy Saver to Power Options in Windows 10
To begin with, you will need to open the Registry Editor. Press Win key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog. Type regedit in the text field and hit Enter on your keyboard or click OK.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to the key below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\DE830923-A562-41AF-A086 -E3A2C6BAD2DA
In the right pane, right-click on the “Attributes” key and select “Modify”.
Change the 32-bit DWORD value from 1 to 2 and click OK.
Now you will need to change the Attributes value from 1 to 2 for the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\DE830923-A562-41AF-A086 -E3A2C6BAD2DA\13D09884-F74E-474A-A852-B6BDE8AD03A8
Lastly, you have one more key for which you need to set the Attributes value to 2:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\DE830923-A562-41AF-A086 -E3A2C6BAD2DA\5C5BB349-AD29-4ee2-9D0B-2B25270F7A81
Now, if you open the Power Options applet from the Control Panel, you should see the “Energy Saver” section.
If you want to remove Energy Saver from Power Options go back to the three Registry keys mentioned above and set the data value of Attributes back to 1 for each of them.
