Here’s how to upgrade to the leaked iOS 9 right now (GM version)

Yesterday Apple made an impressive number of announcements during their September event and among them the new iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPad Pro and the Apple TV were in the center of attention. At the end of the event, the company made the final version of iOS 9 known as the Gold Master (GM) build available to developers. The public version is scheduled to come out on September 16th, but you can install the iOS 9 GM build on your iOS device right now (downloads available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices) and there’s on need for you to be enrolled in the Developer Program.

We recommend you perform a backup for your iOS device through iTunes before you proceed to ensure your data remains safe and you can restore it, should anything go wrong. Connect your device to your computer and then hold down the Option key for Mac or the Shift key for Windows then click on one of the two presented options: “Check for Update” or “Restore iPhone…”.Installing iOS GM 9Note: If you choose the “Check for Update” it will flash the iOS 9 GM over your existing OS, while “Restore iPhone” deletes the current OS and installs the new one. You can use either, but we recommend the “Restore iPhone…” option as there are less chances for bugs and OS issues to occur.Locate the IPSW file you just downloaded and open it.Locate the IPSW fileNow you’ll need to confirm the OS upgrade action for the process to continue.
