Latest WordPress update brings website search, insights screen and more

WordPress, the well-known CMS, have bumped their Android app to version 4.2, which brings some handy new features.

Stats visualization is completely different right now, thanks to the new Insights section. It shows numbers for a variety of data, like top referrers and most popular posts. Also, users can now see all-time stats, not just daily, monthly and yearly like before.

The Passcode Lock screen received a Material Design overhaul, although no functional changes have been added in this area. If you have to maintain a large number of WordPress sites, your job just got a bit easier. The app now comes with a website search function, which is practically the fastest way to search the needle in the haystack.

Obviously, the usual bug fixes are included in the update. It’s still rolling out as we speak, so if version 4.2 of the WordPress app is not yet available for you in the Play Store, you can download the APK from here. In the mean time, here’s the full changelog:

  • Insights screen gives you instant access to your all-time numbers
  • Material design spreads to the Passcode Lock screen
  • Have an unruly amount of sites? With the new site search, finding the right one is quick and pain-free!
