While iOS 10 brings a solid collection of general improvements, it is also very focused on expanding 3D Touch capabilities. One of the latest discovered features is the ability to prioritize app downloads in iOS 10.
Since the feature can only be accessed via the 3D Touch quick options menu, only those who own an iPhone 6s or 6S plus can use it right now. Of course, it will also be available for the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, as well as any other iPhone models that will be released in the future.
The new ‘Prioritize Download’ function is available in the 3D Touch quick options menu for any app that’s currently in the download queue. This certainly comes in handy when you have dozens of apps waiting to be re-installed or updated but you only need a few of them right away.
As soon as you tap on the option, the related app will be moved at the top of the download queue and it will also pause installation for the other apps. Also, you should be aware the option won’t be available unless more than one app is installing.
