Getting email address suggestions as you type can be very useful, and it usually is. The iOS Mail app provides this functionality (as do other mail apps, on various platforms), although every once in a while, a completely useless suggestion might show up.
At some point, these unwanted suggestions can become annoying, but you can easily remove them so they won’t bother you again.
In the guide below, we’ll show you a simple trick you can use to remove specific email suggestions from the recent list on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch so follow the steps detailed below to clear your recommendations list in the Mail app.
How to remove email recommendations in the Mail app on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
Launch the Mail app on your iDevice and compose a new email. In the ‘To‘ field,  type the email address for which you keep getting unwanted suggestions or a specific address you want to remove.
Each of the listed suggestions has an (i) button next to them. Tap on the (i) button next to the address you want to remove from recommendations.
A new screen will be displayed with various actions you can take for that specific email address. Tap on the ‘Remove From Recents‘ option and it will be deleted from the list of suggested emails.
From then on, you shouldn’t be seeing that contact listed in Mail’s address recommendations. Nevertheless, if you will begin to communicate with that contact more often, it will show up again in the suggestions list at some point.
And just to make things clear, the ‘Remove from Recents‘ option won’t delete the contact from your phone’s address book. It will just make it so you never see that email address in the suggestions list. This option can be particularly useful for contacts you’ve often exchanged emails with but have changed their primary address.
