RunAsDate: Specify your software’s date

RunAsDate is a very small and compact utility that will let you easily change the date and time that your applications run in, letting you overcome various obstacles.

Installation & Requirements

There is not setup for the program. Simply download and extract the files to your desired folder and run the RunAsDate executable file. No additional programs are required. The supported operating systems are Windows 2000 and higher as well as Windows Servers 2003 and up.

The application is extremely easy to use as it only has one main window and a few settings on it. For any extra help you might need, there is an HTML help file as well as a ReadMe text available that will give you some more information about the program. More advanced users will also be pleased to know that you can run the application from the Command Line using the functions specified in the help file.

The first thing you will need to do is load an executable file into the application. This can be done by dragging and dropping the file into the main window or using the Browse button to search your computer for the file. The date and time you want the application to run in can be modified in the next field even up to the exact second. The Parameters tab should not bother most users as it is a command line for users that know what they are doing.

There are three other settings you can enable. Moving the time forward in accordance to the real time, returning the application to your current date and time after a specified amount of seconds and lastly, enabling Immediate Mode. The last option will change the program’s date immediately after it starts but it can create crashes to some applications, especially those that use the .NET framework so keep that in mind before enabling it.

Now that you have gone through all the settings you are ready to launch the application. You can either run it immediately after you have compiled your settings by clicking on the Run button or you can create a desktop shortcut that you can run at any point with the settings you have already provided. You can even take the shortcut and move it wherever you want and it will still work as intended.
