The Messages app has received significant improvements in iOS 10, but also new features. for example, you can send bubble effects in iOS 10 iMessages, perhaps a more subtle way to liven up a conversation when compared to emojis.
You can use four different bubble effects, specifically Slam, Loud, Gentle and Invisible Ink. It’s extremely easy to send bubble effects in iOS 10 iMessages, and I’ll show you how to do it below.
Send bubble effects in iOS 10 iMessages
Nevertheless, before we proceed you should know these effects are only available for iMessages, and cannot be used when sending a regular SMS.
On your iPhone or iPad, launch the Messages app and open a conversation (or start a new one).
Type your message and then tap and hold on the Send button.
At this point, you should be seeing a new screen that lists all available bubble effects. Pick one and then you can press the Send button.
Once you do that, your message will be sent with the chosen bubble effect.
The recipient will be able to see the bubble effect if they’re also using iOS 10. Sadly, the effect won’t be visible for those using iOS 9 or an older iOS version.
If you find sending iMessage bubble effects in iOS 10 enjoyable you should know it’s also possible to apply screen effects to your conversations – there are several to choose from including confetti, fireworks, lasers and more, and you can access them by long pressing the Send button and going to the same ‘Send with effect’ window, but this time you need to select the ‘Screen’ tab.
