AKVIS OilPaint is an impressively simple application that lets you quickly turn any photo into an oil painting. With this tool you can endlessly experiment the process of turning an image into an oil painting, using your entire photo collection – at the fraction of the price for a real work of art.

The setup is quick and simple, then all you have to do is choose the image you want to edit. Then, you can either tweak the settings manually, or use one of the built-in presets. If you’ve never done anything like this before, playing with the presets for a while might be a good idea. It gives you an idea of what certain functions can do, and how they affect the output image.

Choosing the manual settings, AKVIS OilPain lets you tweak the stroke thickness, maximum length, intensity and curvature, but also the saturation and relief values. The application also lets you overlay a text box, and customize the text’s font size and type. You can easily reposition the box, but also change the text color, add outlines and tweak the glow so it blends perfectly with your painting.

A number of textures are provided as well, and these allow you to make your project look more authentic. Also, you can change the texture’s scale, embossing, brightness and other parameters.
