Alternate File Shredder is a powerful piece of software that lets you erase data from your hard drive, beyond any possibility of recovery. This way you’ll have peace of mind knowing the data you deleted cannot be recovered by unauthorized third parties and will be gone forever.

In the main window of the tool you can drag and drop files and folders and for each item you add, the application shows its name, time, date and format. Before you initiate a shredding task you can set the program to overwrite the erased data with random information and shred the file names too, which will make it more difficult for others to try and retrieve the files.

Furthermore, you can configure the shredding process to ignore write protection (if such is the case), turn off delete confirmations, select the number of iterations and use the wipe free space option so already delete data cannot be retrieved.

The tool works smoothly using a negligible amount of system resources and all its actions are stored in a log you can access whenever you need to.
