Aseba 2.3.1
A comprehensive robotics development environment designed to simplify robot programming
Aseba is a feature-rich, open-source software solution that bundles all the functions required for robot programming and allows you to learn the basic principles of robotics in a user-friendly manner. The application was created for Thymio robots and relies on an intuitive scripting language similar to Matlab. With support for both simulated and real multi-processor robots, the program is perfect for educational purposes and research.
Aseba’s development environment was specifically created to be used by both beginners and advanced users, in order to develop programs for Thymio robots.
In the kit, you will find Aseba Studio, a text programming-enabled Integrated Development Environment with a basic language that beginners can learn quickly. As a result, the IDE provides native functions, variables, local and global events, logs and constants, and any of them can be accessed with a simple mouse click.
What’s more, Aseba Studio includes a set of debugging tools and allows you to set breakpoints among other useful features.
Another component of the programming toolbox is Aseba PlayGround. This is a 3D simulator that enables you to see how the code will be executed and you can easily create custom simulation environments.
Lastly, the package also includes Aseba Challenge, an application that offers experimenting with Aseba scripts under the form of a game for educational purposes.
