Delete a specific selection of files from a folder or its subfoldersIf you have a large number of files you want to delete from a folder, it can be quite time consuming to manually select them. In such a situation you can rely on DELS, a command line utility that enables you to select files from folders and their subfolders and mark them for deletion using wildcards.
Being a command line tool, DELS doesn’t have a GUI, but rest assured its command line interface provides hints on how it can be used. Once you run DELS in the command line interface, the list of hints will be displayed.
Then, all you need to do is decide which folder (and its subfolders) you want to delete files from. The program lets you select the files that should be deleted by defining file extensions, file age and folders/subfolders.
Different settings can be used for each deletion task and it is possible to not enter folders recursively, as well as test the file selection using the dedicated command.
