Driver Sweeper: Complete driver leftovers removal

Driver Sweeper is a free utility that enables you to remove leftovers of uninstalled drivers from your computer. Many problems can be caused by driver leftovers, such as startup and stability issues.

Driver Sweeper is the perfect solution of making sure your drivers will be properly removed or updated.

There are two ways you can use Driver Sweeper and both of them yield the same results.

The first method: Uninstall the driver(s) using the official uninstaller. Restart the computer is Safe Mode. Run Driver Sweeper, select the driver(s) you want to clean and press the Clean button.

The second method: If the deletion process was not successful, this method will delete the remaining files after a system restart. Uninstall the driver(s) via the official uninstaller. Run Driver Sweeper. Select the driver(s) you want to clean. Restart your computer.

Items can be added by clicking on the driver’s name that you wish to clean and the “>” button, or by double-clicking on the name of the driver. Removing items is done in the same manner, except you need to press the “” button instead of “>”.

Since all of Driver Sweeper’s settings are saved in an .ini file, no registry entries will be added/modified. As a result Driver Sweeper can also be used as a portable application. Log files are saved on the hard drive and can be accessed under the Tools menu.

Currently supported drivers: NVIDIA (display and chipset), ATI (display), Realtek (sound), Creative (sound), Ageia (PhysX), Microsoft (Mouse).
