Fritzing: An open-source environment for Arduino and other electronic-based prototypes documentation, sharing, teaching and more

Fritzing is an open-source project that lets you document Arduino and other electronic-based prototypes, share them, teach electronics, create Printed Circuit Board layouts, and manufacture them.

The application was designed to offer support for researchers, designers, artists, and anyone else that wants to evolve from physical prototyping to the actual product.

With this program, it’s incredibly easy to transfer a hardware sketch to the application so you can ultimately create PCB layouts for manufacturing. It has a friendly UI offering a smooth and effortless workflow and it includes the Breadboard View which lets you quickly build virtual circuits reflecting an exact image of your real circuits but eliminating the possibility of making the usual mistakes that happen when you transition from a physical breadboard to a circuit schematic.

The Schematic View displays the circuit built using the Breadboard View as a circuit diagram – very useful for anyone that wants to learn about standard circuit symbols. There’s also the PCB View which lets you create and export documentation needed to produce a Printed Circuit Board, also featuring an Autoroute function.
