Ghostery for Chrome is a practical browser extension for Google Chrome that offers information regarding the trackers embedded in the websites you visit. The program can be used to find out which advertisers are monitoring your habits and block specific trackers.

Most websites you are tracked by advertisement companies and your browsing habits are used to serve relevant advertisements. To stop this behavior you need to block the tracking tools embedded in websites and Ghostery for Chrome is up for the task.

Once you install the extension, a notification is displayed in the upper right corner of your browser that shows the active trackers on the current page. You can block or whitelist any of the detected trackers by clicking the address bar button.

The entire website can be whitelisted as well, and you can remove domains from the whitelist at any time from the Options tab or via the popup window. Among other customizations, Ghostery for Chrome enables you to change the notification position and enable the GhostRank to contribute to the list of detected trackers. Users can customize most of these functions in the wizard that's displayed when you install the extension.
