Intel Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager 7.6.6
Accelerate your Android SDK with Intel HAXMIntel Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (or Intel HAXM) is a lightweight softare from Intel that helps Android developers quickly accelerate the whole development process of Android.
Intel's virtualization engine, which is powered by its hardware, provides the x86 and x64 virtual devices for hardware acceleration. Evidently, you'll need an Intel power CPU to do that as well as Android SDK, needed for Android development.
The installation is straightforward and you can do it either through the installer or via Android SDK. For the sake of simplicity, we recommend the installer since it automatically detected the SDK and installs all the files needed.
Once you install Intel HAXM, the acceleration will be enabled by default once it detects the Intel hardware. You can double check if the option is enabled by starting Android Studio, launch the Android SDK Manager, Extras, and check the box right next to Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator (HAXM Installer).
If you're an Android developer and you're on an Intel-based architecture, we strongly recommend installing Intel HAXM.
