JIBS: A streamlined software solution for image viewing, management, editing and sorting

Organizing your photo collection using Windows Explorer and Photo Viewer is possible, but definitely time consuming. JIBS (which stands for Java Image Browser Sorter) is a useful application that offers a more productive way for managing, viewing, editing, and sorting images.

This app is Java-based, so it needs Java installed on your computer, in order to work properly. JIBS has a no-thrills, functional interface, that’s not visually appealing but lets you manage your photos fast and easy. Using the built-in file system you can sort files, rename individual or groups of images, as well as create thumnbails and contact sheets.

JIBS offers a full-screen slideshow mode for viewing images, but also includes other handy features such as the Disk Usage function which shows how much free space is left on your hard disk, the ability to split and join images and a built-in image editor that lets you tweak the contrast, sharpness, noise, shadows and binary of your photos, but also use filters for some special effects.

JIBS may have an outdated look, but it is incredibly functional and can significantly speed up image sorting and basic editing tasks.
