JSONedit: A practical tool for creating and editing JSON scripts

JSON Edit is a straightforward application that lets you create, parse and validate JSON scripts while also offering the possibility to callback JSON source codes from URLs. It’s incredibly intuitive, comes with a complete text editing tab and parses the code right away when you switch to the Tree tab.

There’s built-in support for syntax highlighting and a collection of text editing tools like cut, copy, paste (accesible using keyboard shortcuts), finding code fragments, loading JSON files from CSV documents and opening GET parameters from URLs.

When using the Open HTTP option from the File menu, you’ll have to input the URL and fetch the source code outside of curly braces. However, you can define more keys and values, that are not URL encoded.

You can view your script as a node structure and filter data by node type in the Tree tab. In the same location you can view other types of data, specifically integer, float point, null nodes, string, array, boolean and object.

The tool has many other useful functions among which you’ll find text validation (in the Text tab), generation of C++ classes and viewing node statistics (in the Tree tab). Projects can be saved on the hard drive as JSON or TXT files.
