JabRef: Great application for users that need to maintain a bibliography reference database.

JabRef is reliable application software that was designed to provide users with the necessary tools to create and maintain a bibliography reference database.

The program comes with an intuitive interface, with its functionality revolving around the BibTeX databases, in order to store information that users add to the bibliography.

When users create a database, they will be able to add entries like Articles, Conferences, Masters thesis, Patents, Proceedings, Books, Inproceedings, Booklets, Manuals, and Techreport, and for each of the categories, they will be able to add information about the author, title, journal, volume, pages, cross-references, keywords, URLs and even timestamps.

Users will also be able to attach documents that correspond to the information that is found inside the database, and they can be located on the computer or the Internet, so they can access URLs from within the app.

JabRef is a great open-source application that uses the standard LaTeX bibliography format and runs on the Java VM platform.
