KStars: Effortlessly explore the night sky from any location and at any date and time to discover the planets of our solar system and millions of stars with this app

KStars is an educational piece of software that allows you to generate an accurate map of the night sky including stars, planets, constellations and even smaller astro-objects such as satellites, comets, asteroids, and others. The sky map can be generated from any location on Earth at any date and time.

As soon as you launch the program it will automatically display the graphical simulation for the night sky on the current date and geographical location. You can easily enable and disable objects depending on what you want to see.

KStars includes a built-in search function that enables you to easily find a specific planet or constellation as well as other useful tools such as an observation planner, a FOV editor for calculating and displaying the field of view of equipment, as well as a sky calendar tool.

There's also a tool called "What's up Tonight" which allows you to find interesting objects, plus you can print high-quality sky charts, and plot altitude vs/ time graphs for any object.

The application includes the Ekos astrophotography suite, which is a full-featured astrophotography solution capable of controlling all INDI devices including various types of telescopes, filters, focusers, DSLRs, CCDs and more.
