Easy to use viewer for CHM files based on QT and KDE

KchmViewer is a simple viewer created for easy viewing of CHM files, and it has been written with QT / KDE libraries. It can be rewritten to become a standalone Qt or KDE based apps.

The main goal of KchmViewer is to offer compatibility with non-English CHM files. It also provides almost all international charsets.

The viewer has a lot of useful features, like support for tab browsing, correct detection and display of encoding of all valid chm files, correct display of non-English chm files with Cyrillic, Chinese and many others being included. It also can perform searches of the non-English chm files correctly with use if built in chm search index.

Kchm can show desired images for every TOC entry and it has full support for chm indexes, which include multiple index entries and cross links or parent/child entries of the index.

It offers advanced bookmarking support which allows you to keep the bookmarks even though “Favorites” window for desired chm files wasn’t open. You can bookmark the whole page, but also screen positions for each bookmark. All bookmarks can be deleted or edited from the same menu.

This CHM viewer also comes with a straightforward and powerful search feature for performing in-page searches. All font sizes can be increased and decreased. The advanced built in search engine doesn’t require the search index to be present in the chm file. It also indexes all the characters and symbols, which allows the search for code content like "$q = new SWFAction()". This search engine version supports automation via DCOP interface.

Basic functions like back / forward/ home navigation and next in context table and previous in content table navigation are available. All opened pages and CHM files can be printed via standard printer. Full screen and turning off content window options are supported as well.

All HTML sources of CHM pages can be viewed with use of internal or external viewer specified by the user.
