Connect to a remote computer using the Telnet protocolKiTTY is a handy, free tool that lets you connect to a remote machine using the Telnet protocol. Telnet can be used to send text commands to a remote computer, still used by many administrators that need to access and execute commands on remote workstations in a simple and quick way.
To connect to another machine, you’ll have to specify the connection type and IP address. KiTTY also supports SSH, serial and raw connections, besides Telnet. You can setup multiple connections and save the configuration for later use.
Secure connections can be created as well, using HTTP or SOCKS proxy servers. AES encryption is the default for SSH connections, although the program also supports 3DES and Blowfish encryption algorithms.
In the plain UI, you’ll be able to access the parameters for the current session, connection as well as the terminal window. You can change the name, color and behavior of the terminal window. KiTTY can be set to run in the background and the terminal window has support for hyperlinks, letting you access a URL by choosing your preferred browser in the Options menu.
Furthermore, the program offers an option to execute a set of commands automatically, when you connect to the server. You can load a script from an external file or use individual commands.
