MyBatis is a persistence framework that was designed to offer support for custom SQL, stored procedures, and advanced mappings, which are intended order to facilitate the use of relational databases that have object-oriented apps.

It uses an XMP descriptor or annotations in order to couple objects with stored procedures or even SQL statements, and will almost entirely get rid of JDBC code, while also making it unnecessary to set parameters and retrieve results manually.
