Notebook PEA is a straightforward application that allows you to easily encrypt sensitive text and it even bundles a random password generator to help you create secure passwords.

The program is Java-based thus you will need Java Runtime Environment installed on your computer in order to use it. You can directly launch Notebook PEA since it is portable and doesn’t need to be installed.

When you run Notebook PEA for the first time, you are required to setup a password that will be used by the app to encrypt your text file. Once you do that, you can edit the file’s text content manually, or paste more text in it from another source.

Other useful capabilities of the program include an option to export the document to an unencrypted RTF or TXT file, and it’s built-in random password generator that helps you create a secure password to safeguard your data.
