PythonReports: A free toolkit you can use to create database reports in Python

PythonReports is a free toolkit that lets you easily create reports in Python, thanks to the built-in template designer, report builder and several printout options. For your convenience, a test script is available online, on the official website.

The report builder relies on XML templates to create the layouts of database reports. Then, a printout file is generated and you have options to render it to the screen, your printer, as well as PDF and HTML documents among others.

Depending on the platform type you use, the printout module you need varies. To create wx-based previews and for printing you can use wxPython and to generate PDF files, the ReportLab Toolkit is required.

Creating Tk-based report previews is possible using TkiTkinter. The template editor component requires wxPython, while the template designed needs Tkinter with support for Tix.
