QuickMon: Easy to use monitoring and alerting utilityDo you find yourself needing to monitor one or more resources/services and perhaps receive notifications when certain events occur or parameters change? QuickMon is a simple tool for monitoring and alerting that can be easily configured to support a large range of resources and services.
QuickMon has a collection of built-in collector agents – their primary purpose is to gather information on various services or resources and return one of the following three values: good, warning or error.
A few examples of collectors included in QuickMon are Event Log – gives you a count of matching event log entries; Ping – simply retrieves the ping response times of a machine; File count and size – retrieves the size of a file/folder or its existence; Registry Query – like the name says, it queries the registry of a machine; SQL Query – performs SQL query and verifies the query time, row count or return value; and many more!
QuickMon also provides several notifier agents that based on your preferences can retrieve alerts labeled as “Warnings” and “Errors” or just “Errors”: Event log – this notifier agent will log alerts to a local/remote event log; Log file – creates a simple log file; SMTP – can send alerts via e-mail; SQL database – stores alert information on a SQL server.
