Sprite Bump: A straightforward application you can use to easily generate maps for your sprite characters using PNG images

Sprite Bump s a small application that makes it possible to easily generate maps for 2D sprite characters using PNG images.

At first run, you can choose to load an existing project or create a new one, in which case you will need to load the PNG image that will be used to generate sprite maps.

Every time you create a new project, Sprite Bump will automatically generate an ambient occlusion map and a standard map. The first one is needed to make your photos look realistic when used with a physically based renderer.

One of the best features included in the app is its Smart Surface feature, which allows you to draw on top of the normal map. This way you can efficiently alter the surface of 2D characters and you can use various types of brushes, including blur brushes, custom texture brushes and direct brushes.
