Tiled: A handy tool that lets you build tile maps which can be included in various games

Tiled is a straightforward application that offers a user-friendly tile map editor, which lets you easily create and edit tile maps, exactly the way you want.

In the main window you can see existing elements in real time as well as add more map items. There’s a panel in the right area of the interface where you can insert new elements or change the properties of the current ones.

Furthermore, you can edit attributes for selected layers and objects, and even for the whole map. Tiled provides a grid view, which lets you add new objects at specific positions. There’s built-in support for both isometric and orthogonal maps, plus you can resize and offset maps post-creation in a simple way.

Users can add external tilesets to their custom tile maps, as well as save the maps as images. The application features various editing tools like fill brushes and stamps among others.

Input/output plugins are supported as well, enabling users to open and save maps in a large variety of formats. During editing, you can configure the display to show only the layer you want to change, or display all layers for a general overview of the project.
