Unchecky: Ensures third-party components often offered during software installations are automatically unchecked and won’t install during setup

If you frequently install new applications on your computer, even for the sole purpose of testing them, you already know what usually happens if you carelessly press “Next, next, next…” during the setup. You’ll end with with a bunch of toolbars in your browsers, new default search engines and other third-party apps installed you never wanted or needed.

While some of these are harmless security-wise they will at least occupy space and use some of your computer’s resources, thus may slow down the system.
Unchecky is an interesting software solution to these problems as it will automatically uncheck third-party components often bundles in software installers so you don’t have to worry about that yourself.

The application installs quickly and has a low memory footprint so it will be using a negligible amount of your system’s resources. With Unchecky installed, any other software you want to install and includes third-party components in its installer will have them automatically unchecked, but also expanded so you can see exactly what modifications they might perform.

And if you click on any of the checkboxes by accident, Unchecky will immediately show a warning message and ask you to confirm your choice. With this application you can finally install any piece of software without worrying you might not notice unwanted components bundled in the installer that can end up slowing down your machine.
