Universal Media Server13.8.1
Universal Media Server: A customizable media server supporting DLNA certified devicesBased on the old PS3 Media Server, Universal Media Server is a versatile media server that lets you stream media content to the Internet or any DLNA capable device. You have full control over video transcoding and networking settings.
It works just like a UPnP media server that lets you share media files over a dedicated server but without the extensive setup. Universal Media Server has built-in support for a variety of output devices, thus it can interact with lots of different clients such as Xbox 360, Playstation 3 but also Sony and Samsung TVs.
The program automatically detects connected devices and starts the transfer with no setup needed. Since the transcoding process is handled by the application, muxing and format conversion aren’t needed.
In the main window, you can see all detected media renderers as well as information about current and max bitrate. There’s also a dedicated tab for shared files and folders where you can easily manage them. Universal Media Server can automatically disable subtitles for each streaming video, it comes with support for AviSynth and iTunes and offers you extendable functionality via plugins.
