Vista Codec Package is a bundle of codecs for Windows-based systems that will allow you to play almost any media file formats without requiring additional codecs to be installed.

Vista Codec Package is an all-in-one solution that enables playback for all major video and audio formats. All possible conflicts are already dealt with and the package comes with a large number of user suggested default settings.

Vista Codec Package doesn’t perform file associations and doesn’t contain a media player. It was designed to work with any media player and the only limitations will be the player’s own capabilities.

To solve this error, right-click the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator”.

Note: Vista Codec Package is fully capable of MOV and 3GP playback on its own, thus it does no longer include any QuickTime components.
