WifiChannelMonitor: A Wi-Fi traffic capturing application that enables you to view a list of all the access points, the connected clients and their identification information

WifiChannelMonitor is a network traffic monitoring application that enables administrators to acquire vital information regarding the connected WiFi clients and available access points. It is also capable of reading CAP files generated by a third-party packet capturing tool.

The program relies on the Microsoft Network Monitor capture driver to recover information about WiFi clients that are not connected to an access point as well as security-related details like used key and ciphering algorithm, MAC address, device model and name, amount of sent and received data, and PHY traffic mode.

WifiChannelMonitor displays the MAC and SSID addresses, channel, PHY type, transferred data, received responses, number of beacons and received responses, and data encryption security algorithm for each detected access point. You can see all this information in an organized table that can be reorganized by clicking on the table headers.

The application is easy to set up and requires you to select the wireless adapter from the 'Options' section, configure the desired channel and enable the monitor mode.

The interface consists of two panes, the first listing the identified access points while the second pane displays all detected WiFi clients. The clients that have performed transfers within the last 10 or 60 seconds will be marked with green, and orange respectively. Clients that haven't been active for the last minute are marked with red.
