Windows Firewall Control: A lightweight application that lets you quickly access the most frequently used options from Windows Firewall

Windows Firewall Control is a small utility designed mainly for experienced users like network administrators and other IT professionals. It was designed to offer a quick way to access commonly used Windows Firewall Settings as well as management capabilities for networking rules on a per application basis.

From the program’s system tray icon, you can choose the security profile. There are several ones available offering various levels of security (including none). The tool offers a number of rules management options. As a result, users can allow or deny access to specific apps, but also delete, disable or duplicate them in the list.

In the list, you can see programs, names, actions, groups, locations, directions, protocols, services, remote addresses and more. Furthermore, items can be reorganized by direction (all, inbound, outbound or user-created) or status.

To quickly add a new app to the list or turn program access on/off you can enable the simplified viewing mode. The application bundles a comprehensive control panel where you can access even more settings. What’s more, it can be integrated into Explorer’s context menu and configured to import/export rules, run automatically at system start, prevent other applications from adding firewall rules and much more.
