cURL: A open source tool for transferring files via command line

cURL is a free and open source application that allows you to transfer files using URL syntax via command line. The application supports an extensive number of certificates and protocols.

Among the protocols you can work with in cURL, you’ll find popular ones such as HTTP, HTTPS, POP3, POP3S, IMAP, Telnet, FTP, TFTP and others. It allows you to use an equally large number of certificates, including SSL, HTTP form based upload, HTTP POST, HTTP PUT, proxies, user and password authentication, proxy tunneling and so on.

The program will show a progress bar so you know how much data has been transferred as well as approximately how long it will take for the transfer to complete.

Two different projects will be automatically generated – curl and libcurl. Curl is used to receive and send files using URL syntax and libcurl is a friendly client-side URL transfer library that can handle complete URL syntax.
