cloudtag: An Electron-based application that allows you to easily share files and folders via hash tags and drag and drop

cloudtag is a functional, Electron-based application that enables you to effortlessly share files with other computers connected to the same local network. Files can be shared in a simple manner, using hash tags and drag and drop actions.

To share a file, you must drag and drop it onto cloudtag’s interface and type in a hashtag. After the file is uploaded, the hashtag will remain locked for 5 minutes. The receiving user needs to enter the same hashtag into its own cloudtag application and simply drag the file out of its main window.

An alternative file sharing method allows you to click on the “copy” option next to the hashtag field of an uploaded file. Once you use this option, the application automatically copies a direct download link to your clipboard.

That link can be used to download the file in any web browser. You can also share entire folders with the program, in which case they will be compressed to a ZIP file when uploading.
