tlCorpus: A lightweight application that lets you import text documents from various formats to view and study how language is being used in their content

tlCorpus is a feature-rich piece of software aimed at language professionals such as terminologists and linguists. It offers a way to create a comprehensive language corpus to work with.

Typically, a language corpus is comprised of various portions of original text that are used to analyze the changes a language goes through and how the frequency of words used in written or spoken language changes over time.

For the above mentioned reasons, language corpus needs numerous texts as to use multiple sources for drawing accurate conclusions.

With tlCorpus you can add text by importing files with a large number of formats being supported, such as TXT, DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, RTF, EPUB, MOBI, CHM and others. Alternatively you can simple paste the text from the clipboard.

The program lets you automatically generate word lists from the files you imported and then save them as plain text. With the ‘Auto-detect Language’ function, you can easily detect languages you are not familiar with. Moreover, the application can create large databases of up to 4 GB, so there’s plenty of space to store all the information you require.
