[Tip] Get the iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode on older iPhones and iPhone 7

Every time Apple comes up with a feature that’s exclusive to one of their flagships, a smart developer (or even more) finds a way to bring the new functionality to unsupported devices. In many cases, you would be required to have a jailbroken device but this is not the case if you want to get the iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode on older iPhones or the iPhone 7.

Anyone that owns an iPhone 5s or newer will be able to enjoy the iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode on their device. That awesome bokeh effect which screams expensive camera is brought to us by a new app called FabFocus.

The hype is big to the point that FabFocus is scheduled to launch tomorrow (October 19th) and iOS users are eagerly waiting for the moment they’ll be able to download the app.

The test photos showcased on the developer’s official website look great and prove that Apple’s Portrait Mode doesn’t have to be an iPhone 7 Plus-exclusive feature, and those who own older iPhones can enjoy it too.

FabFocus relies on an advanced facial recognition A.I. to detect people in the foreground and automatically blur the background to create the professional depth of field effect.

We also can’t wait to try the blur adjustments as well as converting point lights into custom aperture shapes. What’s more, FabFocus offers a few basic adjustment options so you can quickly perform minor photo edits.

It remains to be seen if the app will be free or not as this information is not available yet. You can read more about FabFocus here, and try the download link below tomorrow since that’s when it is scheduled for launch. For now, this is the only available solution if you want to get the iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode on older iPhones.
