Mischief: A beautifully intuitive digital painting tool

If you are an artist with no technical inclination, you’ve probably been tempted by the versatility of digital graphics applications, but at the same time, discouraged by the myriad options and functions which are often not intuitive.

Mischief is a digital painting application that allows users to focus on creating art, not on setting canvas sizes, color profiles and other similar options. The drawing area is practically endless and you can navigate it using zoom and pan functions.

When the canvas seems too large you can simply use basic geometric tools to define areas. There are only a few options available, as Mischief’s purpose is not to confuse artists, but rather to let them focus on their work.

In the interface you will find customizable toolbars and panels, which you can reposition as well as minimize. The tools include a color picker (also known as the eyedropper tool), basic shapes, erasers and brushes.

Despite the rather limited range of included tools, Mischief does come with layer support, which allows modern, non-destructive editing. From the related panel you can toggle layers on/off, re-order, merge, flip horizontally or vertically as well as change their transparency level.
