Hardcopy is a simple application that lets you save areas or the whole desktop to file or print it in an easy manner. The program also includes several other image processing tools you can use to edit images.

The functional interface of Hardcopy offers a nicely organized set of functions that are easy to use even at first glance. The tool lets you capture a number of regions on your desktop, which can be windows, objects or the whole desktop. You can let the app save your captures automatically or print them using the built-in options.

Captured images are shown in an interactive preview area – there you can use various image editing tools including effects and drawing functions. These include the ability to draw lines and shapes as well as apply filters such as blur, ripple, halftone and watermarks among others.

Besides screen captures, you can also edit your own images with Hardcopy as import options are offered for popular file formats. You can even use them to create animations from frames or merge them into slideshows.

Hardcopy can be customized in-depth – you can change numerous aspects of the program, such as sorting menu entries, setting tool attributes, choosing external applications that should be used, running scripts and many others.
